It’s time to rest now.
I've wanted to "play" with charcoal for some time now. I was walking past some charcoal that my husband had thrown on the grass after we'd used our firepit, did a double take and thought, "I'll use that." So after playing for a bit on scrap paper using only the rough pure charcoal and a dry paint brush to create highlights, I decided I'd do something on quality artists paper. 'It's time to rest now' was created with some of the same charcoal from the firepit, as I love the rough facial lines it creates. Let's face it we all have scars. I also used compressed charcoal, charcoal blenders and a charcoal kneadable eraser for highlighting. The drawing is sealed with a fixative workable matt finish, specifically for charcoal drawings.
